The Playground
Newly upgraded and screaming with fun, the Bean Rock lighthouse-themed playground is one of the best in Auckland. The playground offers entertaining options for many age groups, and is situated beneath beautiful, shady pōhutukawa trees to protect all who play there from the sun.
The Fountain
The Trevor Moss Davis Memorial Fountain is the most famous landmark in Mission Bay. Day or night, its picturesque setting offers visitors a true “Instagram Moment”, By day the fluted Sicilian marble reflects the sunlight and at night the fountain comes alive with a light show provided by the myriad of vibrant lights projecting onto its streaming water.
The Beach
The best place to relax in Auckland on a summer’s day is the golden sand of Mission Bay beach. The beach is safe to swim year-round, with brilliant views of Rangitoto Island forming a backdrop to this beautiful vista. Slip, slop, slap and join the sunbathers and swimmers. With a range of fantastic dining and drinking options just across the road, Mission Bay beach is a favourite Auckland destination.
Kayak and Paddle Board Hire
The water at Mission Bay is calm enough to enjoy some great kayaking and paddle boarding. Surround yourself with sparkling seas, beautiful views, and freedom that only a kayak or paddle board can offer by heading down to Auckland Sea Kayaks and hiring one next time you’re here!
Fitness Park
In town for a holiday or just love training outside? Mission Bay offers a great outdoor fitness option at the eastern end of the Reserve, right next to the beach. Our body-weight outdoor training area was designed in collaboration with local fitness trainers and calisthenics/parkour experts to provide a top spot for exercise set amongst the beauty of Mission Bay.
SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s
A must visit while in Auckland and just a few minutes away, SEA LIFE Kelly Tarlton’s Aquarium showcases over 30 live animal exhibits in spectacular habitat displays, including the world’s largest Sub-Antarctic penguin colony exhibit and amazing underwater viewing tunnels. You can swim with sharks, go on the ice with a colony of King or Gentoo penguins or go behind the scenes at the aquarium.

Entrances are beside Mission Bay Pharmacy on the city side and by Tana Mera on the eastern side of Patteson Ave.
