Mission Bay Café and Bistro has long been a much-loved fixture of The Promenade, delighting locals and visitors for more than twenty years. Open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, it’s the perfect spot to pause after a beach stroll, with an all-day brunch that’s well worth lingering over.
If you’re planning a relaxed picnic near the fountain, you’ll find a tempting selection of counter treats, from indulgent cakes to other sweet favourites. And once 4pm rolls around, the café transforms into a laid-back restaurant by the bay.
Begin your evening with a selection of share-style small plates, including grilled garlic bread, Mediterranean dips, Turkish pide, wagyu meatballs, cured salmon, and their signature Korean fried chicken. For mains, enjoy comforting seafood chowder, a perfectly cooked rib eye, or a wholesome vegan Buddha bowl. To finish, choose from classics like apple and rhubarb crumble, crème brûlée, or a rich molten chocolate pudding.

Located just a short drive, bus, bike or scooter ride from Auckland’s central business district, Mission Bay is easily accessible for both residents and tourists. New cycleways allow safe, flat access directly from the CBD to Mission Bay.
The Promenade has two customer car parks offering 93 parking spaces located off Patteson Ave on the left and right hand sides. Entrances are beside Mission Bay Pharmacy on the city side and by Tana Mera on the eastern side of Patteson Ave. Parking is free for Promenade customers when using the ParkMate app.
